ADRI UP, CEF cofinanced Action 2015-EU-TM-0310-M, contributes to the upgrading of the Motoways of the Sea (MoS) corridor in the Eastern Mediterranean Area, specifically of the MoS link Trieste-Ancona-Igoumenitsa, by boosting the development of related port infrastructures and improving the hinterland freight villages of Fernetti and Igoumenitsa, in order to achieve a fully integration of the corridor in the international freight supply chains, specifically in the South–East Mediterranean Area.
The Adriatic-Ionian intermodal corridor is amongst the most utilized ones within the Mediterranean basin and is characterized by an extensive and long standing provision of Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax services. The improved port and freight villages infrastructures will allow the concentration of the traffic flows, the throughput increase of the related market area, promoting modal shift from road to maritime and rail mode, reducing environmental transport impact, creating efficient connections among ports and hinterland nodes. The combination of these activities will definitely enhance the cooperation among countries and logistic nodes, creating a competitive environment for private operators serving the area. In this framework the Conference “ADRIATIC IONIAN LOGISTIC CORRIDOR: Connection of Transport modes, Connection of Plans and Projects, Connection of Public and Private Operators. Bridging Countries” aims at comparing the European Union institutional and local public undertakings programmes with the logistic private business policies and needs, raising the CEF co-financed Action Adri Up as best practice and as a reference point for an efficient integration of public and private planning systems. The conference, therefore, will be an important opportunity to exchange ideas, opinions and design operational solutions to implement and combine European and local policies with market perspectives.
